Chapter one
My Story
My commitment to health care stems from my own personal experience. I was on a path for medical school when I became very sick with Crohn's disease, a debilitating autoimmune condition. I was hospitalized several times over the course of a few years, with multiple surgeries. During this long illness and recovery, I turned to the ancient art of Chinese medicine.
Receiving acupuncture is when my health really started turning around. At that point, I realized that medical school was not my destiny. I knew that addressing the underlying health concerns and treating the person as a whole was the surest path to wellness.
As my career developed in Chinese medicine, I further recognized the need to address food and environmental sensitivities as well as the effects of chemicals and toxins. Adding neuro-emotional treatments for subconscious stressors fully rounded my practice to address health from the foundation.

A Life in Practice
I have been a practicing Acupuncture Physician for nearly 40 years, graduating in 1988 from the New England School of Acupuncture, one of the leading schools in the integrative health care field, partnered with Massachusetts pharmacology and health sciences programs.
I am board certified by the NCCAOM (National Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine). I've been deeply involved in bio-medicine exam development with the NCCAOM, where I chaired or served as a member for several years. I also serve as co-chair of the PEDC (Professional Ethics and Disciplinary Committee), upholding standards and public safety for acupuncturists nationwide.
Teaching
NAET & NET, Since 1993
I have been trained in NAET and NET since 1993 and hold advanced certifications in both. I have been an instructor or facilitator for over 20 years and have taught and certified hundreds of physicians nationally and internationally. I have brought interns into my practice for over 20 years, broadening awareness of advanced techniques with evidence-based results.

Media coverage has included articles and an interview on the Health Channel, features in magazines and newspapers, including the Philadelphia Magazine “30 Under 30 to Watch.” I have also written articles for health publications distributed nationwide.
I have a special interest in natural skincare and have developed the Tru Energy Skincare line, now available nationwide.

A Practitioner's Philosophy
Treating the person as a whole means addressing both functional wellness and the body, mind, and spirit. Our skin is a reflection of our health, and our health is a reflection of our stressors, both internal and external. Addressing what the body is reacting to, supporting the body's natural inflammatory response, and building the immune system gives us the best foundation for long-term vitality.
Treating the person as a whole means caring for skin, nervous system, and emotional wellbeing together. My clinical belief is simple: emotions are biochemical, expression is functional, and the body adapts intelligently. Skincare is support for that intelligence, reflected in firmer, more youthful-looking skin and a calmer daily ritual.
